Biography

    

Multi-award winning belly dancer Andrea Feryal began her dance journey in 2000.   Over her 18 years of experience Andrea has studied with some of the world’s most prestigious oriental dancers. She has performed in Africa, the United States and all through Canada.  She is also an honorary member

of Arabesque Dance Company and Orchestra for her performance in their production "SAWAH".   Finally She sat on the Board of the AQDO (Quebec association for Oriental dance).

Andrea is an artist in the true sense of the word lending a richly creative and sensitive flavor to her dance that is rarely witnessed. Her dance is described as honest, powerful and playful  allowing her to connect with her audience in a rich and authentic way.  Andrea has a bachelor's in Fine Arts and is a skilled painter and costume designer.  She has also completed certifications as a personal trainer and Essentrics instructor giving her a crucial knowledge in anatomy and movement as an asset to her dance instruction.  She is currently teaching at the YMCA and providing private coaching to semi-professional dancers on their professional dance track.

Andrea has studied with some of the top international performers and aside from oriental dance has studied a variety of dance styles including Egyptian folklore, Moroccan, debke, Bharatanatyam, samba, west African dance, salsa, ballet and contemporary dances among others lending a unique flavor to her style.

Andrea's work with some of the most prominent musicians has given her a musical understanding and sensitivity that, when combined with her flawless technique and mastery of her body never fail to impress, making her an award winning artist and a highly sought after performers.

During her career she has created and directed 3 dance companies hired regularly by the Festival du monde arabe, the festival juste pour rires, le Maîtres de feu, the festival du Chambly, and the festival du percussions where they won several competitions and the festival du Monde.

​

Andrea was the teacher for the semi-professional troupe Ballet oriental du Canada, along side Florence Leclerc directed by Amalia Maksood.

​

In Sept 2016, after winning the professional category in the "Belly Dancer of Canada" competition, Andrea sat on the panel of Judges for egypt raks competition organized by Joharah, along side Khaled Mahmood, Lubna Emam, Gorge Sawa, Nourhan Sharif.
